For gas-permeable (GP) lens wearers, Boston Advance and Boston Simplus from Bausch + Lomb are the most widely recommended care systems. Multi-purpose solution takes care of cleaning, rinsing, disinfecting, and storage all in one step, with no need to neutralise before wearing your lenses again. Hydrogen peroxide works differently: it uses a 3% solution for a deeper level of disinfection, but lenses need at least six hours in the specialist case to neutralise fully before they're safe to insert. If you want a quick, low-maintenance routine, multi-purpose solution is usually the better fit. If you have sensitive eyes or notice deposits building up on your lenses, hydrogen peroxide might work better for you.

Fresh solution is needed every time you store your lenses; never top up what's already in the case. Instead, tip out the old solution, rinse the case with fresh solution, leave it to air dry face down, then refill before use. Once you've opened a bottle of multi-purpose solution, use it within 90 days. Your lens case itself should be swapped for a new one at least once a month to keep contamination risk low.
