How to buy cheap contact lenses online

When buying contact lenses online, all you need to do is double check your prescription on the side of a box of contact lenses you’ve recently bought, enter the details and go through the simple checkout process.
To find your prescription details go to any of our product pages, on the right hand side of the page you’ll see a grey box, titled ‘Enter Your Prescription’, click on any of the following: ‘base curve’, ‘diameter’, ‘power’, ‘cylinder’ and ‘axis. The relevant area will now be highlighted. This makes it easier to find your prescription details on your current contact lens box, so you don’t need your prescription to hand.
Or, if you’re unsure how to read your prescription, follow the link to find out and watch our handy video, for some easy to follow advice. Need some help? Send us a picture of your prescription and we can quickly double check the details with your optician.
Why is buying contact lenses from the optician more expensive?
Opticians tend to offer contact lenses on a direct debit scheme that includes extras and aftercare that you may not need. Signing up to a scheme like this might seem like an easy way to ensure you never run out of lenses, but if you don’t wear lenses every day you might find yourself paying for more than you need.
When you buy contact lenses online, you can order the exact number of lenses that you want, for when you want them. You’ll enjoy the convenience of getting contacts delivered to your home and our UK next day delivery service means your lenses can be delivered to your door in less than 24 hours, perfect if you ever forget to re-order.
We can also send you SMS or email reminders to make reordering just as effortless as a direct debit scheme. All it takes is a reply to an SMS message or 3 clicks from your email inbox for your lenses to be on their way. There’s no automatic payment, so, if you do have some remaining lenses, you can use them up first.
Why is it cheaper to buy big brand name contact lenses instead of optician equivalents?
Usually, when you’re trying to cut costs, it’s a good idea to move from branded products to a store’s own brand equivalents. With contact lenses the opposite is true. Both Specsavers easyvision range and Boots' own brand lenses are made by contact lens manufacturers who also make equivalent versions packaged with different names and branding. These are cheaper than the optician’s lenses, so switching is a great way to save money when buying lenses.
