What brand of contact lenses do Specsavers use?

As we've mentioned, Specsavers sell their own brand contact lenses (easyvision), just like supermarkets have their own brand food ranges. But unlike at the supermarket, own brand contact lenses are more expensive than branded products. Why might you ask? Well, opticians tend to include extras as part of the final cost and go on to sell them under the name 'easyvision'. This range includes a variety of lens wearing patterns and types, such as gas permeable and soft silicone hydrogel. Along with lenses for eye conditions, including presbyopia and astigmatism. All of which we sell!

How can I buy equivalents of Specsavers contact lenses?

Generally, to buy easyvision contact lenses, you'll be asked to join a direct debit scheme. Through this scheme, you'll pay a fixed amount for a supply of your chosen lenses each month, and some additional services. Seemingly super-convenient at first, the downside is that you're often tied into a minimum order quantity, typically lasting 3 months. While this can be an easy way of always having a supply of lenses, many wearers end up with far more than they need, and spend more money than necessary.

The good news is that, with us, you can order equivalents of Specsavers contact lenses whenever you like - and don't have to commit to a single thing! You're completely in charge of your eye care needs, and have the freedom to stock up, or not reorder on your watch. With this route, you'll never waste any money, be stuck with lenses you don't need and still have access to many of the services that direct debit schemes make you pay more for.

Some of these so called 'additional services' that direct debits schemes include like around-the-clock customer service and contact lens replacements can be enjoyed with us, for free. Plus, as a UK resident, you're also entitled to a free NHS eye test anyway. Feeling convinced? Head over to our in-depth guide on how to cancel your optician's direct debit, pronto!

How do I get my prescription from Specsavers?

It's your legal right to have access to your contact lens prescription immediately and automatically after a contact lens check. If not you can request it from your optician and they're obliged to give you a copy. Once you have access to your prescription you can order the lenses which suit your eyes and wearing habit, plus you can change lenses as often as you like, without entering a trial period.

How much is a Specsavers contact lens check-up?

Unlike Specsavers, who offer just a check-up for £25, we provide a complete eye health package. This includes a premium eye test and a contact lens check-up worth £25 for half the price, with David Clulow. During your visit, you're not just a name on the list that they have to rush through: each service will take 25 mins (50 in total), ensuring it will be thorough enough, without wasting your time. After your appointment, you'll get access to around-the-clock aftercare, expert advice and David Clulow's fabulous range of designer glasses.
