Easysept is a hydrogen peroxide contact lens solution from Bausch + Lomb that deeply cleans, disinfects, and stores soft contact lenses. When you place your lenses in the dedicated EasySept case and fill it with solution, a catalytic reaction converts the 3% hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen over a minimum of six hours. This automatic neutralisation leaves lenses stored in a gentle, preservative-free saline. The result is a thorough clean that removes proteins, lipids, and pathogens, with no preservative contact with the eye on insertion.
Easysept and multi-purpose solutions suit different wearers. Easysept's hydrogen peroxide system delivers a more thorough clean than standard MPS, breaking down deposits and pathogens at a molecular level. It is also preservative-free after neutralisation, excellent for sensitive eyes or those who react to preservatives in MPS products. The trade-off is a dedicated lens case, a minimum six-hour soak, and care not to insert lenses before neutralisation is complete. Multi-purpose solutions are more convenient for everyday use. Your optician can advise which suits your lens type and lifestyle best.
Easysept is compatible with most soft contact lens materials, including hydrogel and silicone hydrogel lenses such as those in the Biofinity, Acuvue Oasys, Air Optix, and Biotrue ONEday ranges. It is not suitable for rigid gas-permeable or hard contact lenses, which require a dedicated RGP solution such as Boston Advance. Always check the compatibility guidance on the Easysept packaging for your specific lens type. If you use a specialist lens such as a scleral or extended-wear lens, confirm compatibility with your optician before switching to a new solution system.
