I've been a contact lens wearer for 30 years and have tried many different lens from several manufacturers (mostly premium) and was recommended the Dailies Total 1 lenses by my optician because I have dry eyes. As a comparator, my regular lenses prior to the Dailies Total 1 were 1-Day Acuvue Trueye from J&J. So, having used the Dailies for over 6 months, what's the verdict? Well, I'm going to go against the tide a little and say they're OK, but not as ground-breaking as Ciba would have you believe. On the plus side, you can wear these lenses for a long time without drying out, including on a plane and air-conditioned environments, which is great However, the lenses are difficult to handle, they easily slip off your finger when putting the lens in your eye and I've lost count of the number of lenses I've had to remove immediately after I've put them in because they feel uncomfortable and had to put in a new lens, i.e. money wasted. They don't seem to settle quickly on my eye and often I have to move the lens around to expel air bubbles. Due to the lens material, there are times when the lens is more mobile on the eye, which is disconcerting and annoying. The vision is no better than the J&J Acuvue Trueye and they are very expensive, even more so when you consider the number you throw away. This is just my personal experience, but for as long as I can remember I always seem to come back to J&J lenses, which maybe suit my eyes better than other manufacturers.
A friend recommended these to me and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to change my current lenses, especially to more expensive ones. But then I decided to give them a go anyway and now I can't think of any other lenses to wear. They are incredibly comfortable and don't dry out my eyes at all! I totally recommend them!
The quality is so much better than normal Focus Dailies. Worth the price!
